Stranger Things has finally come to an end after nine unforgettable years. For some, the ending was complete cinema– a fitting and satisfying conclusion to the show. While to others it felt inadequate and unfulfilled. The show became really popular and meant a lot to fans, so people had high hopes for the ending. Because of this, people are wondering whether or not Stranger Things ended the way it should have.

One reason many fans enjoyed the show was due to the fact that it was nostalgic and brought out every emotion. It had a mix of everything– horror, comedy, romance, sci-fi, and more. When interviewing Alaysha McCoy, a homeschooled senior, about how she felt about the show’s ending, she stated, “I think it was 100/10. I like that it had a good balance of everything. It was funny, sad, corny, and I like that it brings out all emotions.”

Another reason people loved Stranger Things was because of the characters. Many fans grew up watching them and felt connected to them. Some of the characters like Eleven, Mike, and Dustin felt the most relatable and like actual friends to some of the viewers. When interviewing Renee Isabelle Amba-An, a junior here at Liberty, she

expressed her attachment to Will Byers and Mike Wheeler. Two of the main characters in the show. Even stating that Will had the most character development throughout the show.

However, other fans felt disappointed. They said it felt rushed, didn’t explain enough, and missed a lot of the details. It also left a lot more questions than answers. A few people wanted more action or a different ending for certain characters. The expectation was set so high that the ending disappointed a lot of fans.

The ending also made people very emotional. Some fans cried due to the fact that the show finally ended after so long. After watching for so many years, it was hard to let go. The final episode reminded people how attached they were to the show and what it really meant to them.

In the end, Stranger Things will always be remembered as a special show. Even if fans didn’t completely agree on the ending, many can agree it was an important part of their lives and even go back and rewatch the show. It brought people together and created unforgettable memories. But the real question is, did stranger things end the way fans will remember forever, or will people wish it had a different ending?
