GasBuddy is a technology website and app used to find the cheapest gas prices in real time for the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Monday they released their weekly report showing the average gas price of $5.06 per gallon. In the Las Vegas Valley, $4.29 per gallon is the lowest price available. 8newsnow
Diesel prices have been rising in recent days around the U.S. causing more Americans to express their opinions. Patrick De Haan, Head of Petroleum Analysis at GasBuddy, spoke with News Channel 9 recently, he claims ¨Diesel even more painful now approaching $4.86 a gallon, we’ll likely see the national average for diesel and prices in Syracuse hit that $5 a gallon mark for Diesel here in the next couple of days.¨

Students have reported they need to fill their tanks more often than they use to. A senior who chooses to stay anonymous at Liberty stated, “I need to get gas like once a week now.” with a disappointing tone. Many have also called it “annoying”, considering their source of income.
According to eia.gov, Gas prices in Nevada 10 years ago, 2016, ranged from $1.48 to $1.53 per gallon. Senior, Lennon Askew calls the rise in gas prices “extreme” and states “utilizing resources from other outlets and not just the middle east” could potentially help elevate the vast jump in the prices of gas.
