The countdown begins for the release of the final season of the popular television show, Stranger Things. On November 26, 2025 volume 1 of season 5 will be released on Netflix. Afterwards, volume 2 and the series finale will be released on December 25 and December 31.

The first season of Stranger Things came out on July 15, 2016 and became popular immediately following its release. The show’s 1980s nostalgia and its mix of the horror and sci-fi genres are credited for its popularity. Junior, Carly Thomas, shares her reason for liking Stranger Things was, “it’s spooky and interesting in the way it builds the tension throughout the episodes that makes you nervous about what’s going to happen. I like that it’s scary, but not so scary to the point where I don’t want to watch it.”
Alongside the intriguing adventures of the show, many fans also show lots of love for all the characters and their relationships. Kaylee Vergara, a sophomore here at Liberty, said her favorite Stranger Things character is, “Lucas because he’s so real and relatable.” Junior, Matthew Zauss, said his favorite Stranger Things season was, “season 2 because I really liked Max and Eleven’s relationship.” The relatable and funny characters and the close relationships they have with each other all contribute to the show’s enjoyability.

With the final season being released soon, many people have started making predictions on how the show will end. Carly Thomas predicts, “Vecna is gonna come back and somehow get control over one of the other main characters, maybe Will or Eleven, and I just know someone’s going to die, not sure who yet.” An alternative prediction from Kaylee Vergara is, “Eleven is definitely going to die because the show started with her and it’s going to end with her.” As fans make a variety of different predictions, they all await with excitement as well as fear for the end of Stranger Things.
