Choir is an organized group of singers, particularly in a church. Choir consists of 5 keys. Baritone, Bass, Tenor for a Men’s Choir, and soprano and alto for women’s choir. All roles are important. Bass provides the foundation, and Tenors provide the higher parts. But how is choir different from high school Choir? Liberty High School Choir is different because it has a more complex, and wider range of performances. Which comes all together with singing, and dancing.
Students that do choir in Liberty High School become more advanced, and learn to read and sing at a higher level. Students also travel for competitions. There are a lot of advanced styles of Choir. Show choir, Concert choir, and Wider literature. Show choir is the combination of singing with costumes, and modern arrangements which compete with other schools. Concert choir focused on more classical, and complex pieces across different languages and periods. Wider literature performs from a broader range of musical periods, including multiple foreign languages. High school Choir focus on more advanced techniques. Like improving health through warm-ups and more vocal techniques.
But what is Liberty High School Choir like? You feel more accepted and appreciated. You learn new skills and music that may have seemed possible before. In Choir students learn how to sing with strength and clarity using their entire body, which makes the muscles stronger in the legs, and arms. They also learn basic new reading skills. Which improves their vocal technique, such as breathing, control, and blending. Which enables them to sing healthier, with more stamina and confidence. They also learn functional music theory and reading to understand and perform more complex pieces quickly and efficiently. These skills overall build confidence, while also improving abilities, memory and focus.
What does being in Liberty Choir teach you? You learn vocal technique, basic music theory, and how to read music, along with important life skills like teamwork, discipline, and listening. Participants develop their singing voice, and tone control. You also learn to blend with others. Its important to understand fundamental singing, knowing how to use the voice correctly takes both the guesswork and the risk of developing and using the voice.
