Do you like meeting new people and having fun? LSA is a club here at Liberty that helps bring people together and have fun activities. They host get-togethers, hangouts, and create a friendly environment for everyone. They also host fundraisers to raise money for good causes. LSA meets every Tuesday at 1:15 in room 226 with Mrs. Spreitzer.
Brianna Teran, a sophomore in LSA states “In LSA, we just have really fun activities and bring people together with like coloring and watching a movie or eating snacks.” Brianna also really enjoyed it when they played jeopardy. LSA is the perfect environment to not only have fun but also compete in fun activities with your friends.
LSA is not only about having fun but making a difference. “This year we’re trying to start more fundraisers to gain more money for the club and to also help out with hospitals, and abuse, like drugs, all of that.” – Kiki Mumolo.
Being part of LSA also comes with great benefits. According to Kiki, seniors who have participated in LSA for at least a year will receive a cord for graduation. Brianna states that another perk is, “getting to do something fun every week.”Mrs. Spreitzer, the club advisor, added some other important advantages by stating, “ you get to meet new people, make new friends, do fun activities that you normally wouldn’t think of, or have the time to do, and it honestly just kind of brings you out of your comfort zone.”
So what about students who are introverted or have a hard time in social situations? No problem, according to Kiki, as this was the reason for LSA. She states that, “because I know that a lot of kids have social anxiety and that’s why I started it.” It seems LSA is perfect for students who have a hard time engaging in school activities. According to Mrs. Spreitzer, this club, really understands the need. She states, “I love their mission, and the way that the club advocates for social engagement on campus. I think students really need a place to go where they want to make new friends, and they’re unsure how to go about it. So, LSA is a great place for that.”
