On April 4th, 2025, the famous Minecraft movie was released in theaters worldwide capturing the attention of many teens and children. Like most entertainment today, it wasn’t long for the movie to become a hit for its online media memes and jokes. Iconic references and scenes such as the infamous “Chicken Jockey” quote sparked chaotic and messy reactions of the audiences in the theater.

The memes quickly took a turn for the worst and soon many theaters were angered by how people were treating the property. Dayton Whitmire, a sophomore at Liberty High School said she watched the movie the day it was released. Whitmire explained “ I went inside where it didn’t get extremely messed up, everyone was chill in my theater”. She claimed people knew the movie scenes even before it came out and thought it was funny and mostly harmless.

On the other hand, some watchers found their experience to be messy, sticky and “full of disrespectful little children” like freshman Eleanore Karam. Karam stated “People threw food and popcorn and stuff everywhere, I even found money under the seats, it was just a mess!”, she also clarified there wasn’t any parent in sight to scold their child. After learning the news on the movie’s destruction to theaters, Sophomore Jamie Hallmark proposed they should set regulations on “ No throwing, trashing the place and yelling out inappropriately”. Although it’s disastrous effects, the Minecraft movie will still be remembered for its uniqueness and funny moments in 2025’s movie collection.
