Music is a pretty big part of our lives. Think about it- we listen to it in the car, during classes, and even when we’re shopping in the grocery store. Yet as significant as it is, it still feels hard trying to find new music. With that being said, I made it my mission this month to interview the students of Liberty and ask them what their playlists looked like. Hopefully by the time you are done reading this article, you will already have a couple new songs added.
Christine Beishir, a freshman here in Journalism, shared a slice of her playlist with me during class.“I like pop, sometimes rock- it’s kind of everywhere. I like japanese pop, too. I really Beefy and Lay Bankz.” Seems like a pretty neat playlist!
Manzili “Zili” Harris, a Sophomore, allowed me to investigate his music taste, too. He mentioned that he doesn’t have a playlist, per se, but more so a set of songs that he listens to everyday. “Some songs i listen to are Way Bigger by Don Toliver, Out West by Travis Scott, uhm, Good Day by Ice Cube, Dark Knight by Trippie Red, Down in Atlanta by Travis Scott, and yeah. I mess with phonk, too. “ An overall captivating list of songs from Manzili.
Lastly, I interviewed Sophomore Anistyn Sindelar. “I’ll listen to literally anything and everything. Except country music. That stuff’s nasty. I can enjoy anything else, though.” Some of her favorite artists include Kali Uchis, Taylor Swift, Frank Ocean, and Olivia Rodrigo, and SZA. In fact, she’s going to SZA’s concert in october. “My favorite song as of right now is Gasolina by Daddy Yankee.”
