Homecoming, or “Homecoloring”, is close and students are excited about it. The dance will be held on Saturday, October 8 at Stoney’s Rocking Country from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. I interviewed Mrs. VanEss about it and she provided helpful information.
The amazing people in Student Council have planned this over the summer and are guaranteed to give students a homecoming they will never forget. When asked about the theme, Mrs. VanEss about the theme, she said,“The theme this year is homecoloring. It’s just a celebration of everything in the world, all things of color, and just making Liberty a little brighter.” The amazing people in Student Council have planned this over the summer and are guaranteed to give students a homecoming they will never forget.
She added to this by including information about Stoney’s. They chose Stoney’s due to the fact that our venue is ginormous. “So, we like to have our homecoming dances off campus. We think that the environment and the atmosphere adds more to the dance than having you guys on campus. But, with the size of the school we are, we are growing out of our standard venues, so we got to be creative in the venues that we use. Stoney’s is big enough for us and we’re excited to find a place that will host all of us.”
For those worried about food: fear not! There is a dessert bar at Stoney’s where non-alcoholic beverages and sweets will be served. The best part is that it is all free! However, it is recommended to eat beforehand.
With homecoming so close, spirit week is also here to celebrate the event. The days are listed below.
Monday: Favorite Color day. Dress in your favorite color.
Tuesday: Wear a Jersey Day. Throw on a jersey and some blue jeans!
Wednesday: Wear Pink. As the Mean Girls once said, “On Wednesdays we wear pink.”
Thursday: Dress as your type. Dress as the type of person you have a crush on.
Friday: Class Colors day! Wear the colors of your class! Friday will also be an assembly in the gym as well as our homecoming game. If you are planning on going to the game, it is recommended to wear all black.
