Here at Liberty High School, settled in Portable 16, the African Heritage Club is a warm and welcoming community that allows students to explore and celebrate their African culture.

The African Heritage Club was created by Student Morin Oladele, and was supported by other students such as Jeremiah Irojobeje, Isaac Abebe, and more. As we talked to Isaac, he briefly put it as, “We wanted to create a place where people can learn more and share more about their culture and heritage.”
The community wants to give off a welcoming and warm environment so everyone can feel safe and comfortable, allowing more members to feel comfortable expressing their passion and love for African culture.
While the club has yet to host its own traditions and culinary events, members have participated in the recent Foodie Fest, delivering foods such as Puff Puff, and Jollof Rice.
“I hope to see more members, and more people getting active and involved in the community later on from now,” Isaac shared.
The African Heritage Club has definitely been a great addition to Liberty High, and its positive, welcoming community shows its love for it. You can connect with them on their Instagram page: @lhs_africanheritage
