Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has taken over theaters and social media, and students at our school are just as caught up in the excitement as anime fans everywhere. An 11th grader, Kavali Parker, didn’t hold back whatsoever when asked about his overall impression, calling the film “pretty great” and going as far as to describe it as “one of the best movies of the year that I’ve seen for sure,” capturing the pure enjoyment and hype that’s been ignited in the fan community. The most striking part of the movie was the combination of animation and action. Most of the fans described the fight sequences as the best part, Kavali explaining that “the action, the animation was great and all the fights were great too,” emphasizing how much the visual storytelling added to the experience. When asked which battle stood out the most, he immediately singled out Tanjiro and Giyu’s confrontation with Akaza, calling it “crazy the whole way through.” That scene perfectly captured the intensity of the series and left a lasting impression, as seen through the reactions in online fan discussions.
Kavali also highlighted a character who surprised him in this movie. Zenitsu, usually known as comedic relief, and obnoxiously annoying, was shown in a new light, and Kavali noticed this shift. He explained that Zenitsu “acts a lot different than he does throughout the rest of the series,” showing growth and depth that gave the character new weight in the story. Fans seem to agree that these moments help balance the high-stakes action with meaningful character development.
The ending of the movie left Kavali—and many other viewers—eager for more. The film concludes during an unresolved battle, and Kavali pointed out that this setup makes the next movies even more anticipated. “It left off on a fight, and we haven’t even seen the best fights yet,” he noted, capturing the sense of anticipation that is spreading across the student body and fan communities alike. Even with the movie’s many strengths, Kavali did point out one minor drawback. He felt as though Akaza’s backstory slowed the pacing a little bit, but he quickly added that “other than that, I think it’s pretty good,” showing that this small issue didn’t overshadow the overall experience. He also praised the writing, saying it was “pretty good written,” referring to how the story handled the character arcs and key plot points, including the tension surrounding Tanjiro’s mark and the depth of Akaza’s motivations.
Students like Kavali and their opinions mirror the broader sentiment among fans: the combination of breathtaking animation, thrilling fight sequences, and very well-executed character development makes Infinity Castle a must-see, even if certain scenes temporarily slow the flow. Whether students are longtime anime viewers or just enjoy big theatrical releases, the movie has made a strong impression, and the excitement for the next chapter in the story is visible. With the anticipation for future fights and character moments, it’s clear that the hype around Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is only just beginning, and fans are eager to see how the story unfolds.
