UFC welterweights Jack-Della Maddalena and former UFC lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev are set to face, on UFC 322 for the welterweight championship of the world. This will be Jack’s first title defence after beating Belal Muhammad for the title, Islam going up a weight class from being a multiple time, lightweight champion, and former, pound for pound best fighter in the UFC. While the majority of people are rooting for Islam, they do know this is still gonna be a great fight, like Alan, a senior at Liberty says, “I got Islam but JBM does have the height and reach advantage but if Islam can close the difference and take him down he’ll most likely win.” Also on this card we have a former champion Leon Edwards going up against one of the most hyped prospects of the division, Carlos Prates. While this fight is going to be a striking show down with both fighters being known for their stand up fighting skills, Snook, another senior, adds onto that and says “Leon Edwards is a former champion and more experienced.” Another high profile fight that many people did not see coming was Baisangur Susurkaev V.S Eric McConico who is coming off a win from UFC vet Cody Brundage. Susurkaev was just introduced into the ufc through the Dana White contender series. He won his fight in the contender series by first round KO/TKO then at UFC 319 Just 4 days after he won his contender series fight he was called up to fight in the UFC due to someone pulling out a fight. He stepped in the octagon with 4 days to recover and beat a undefeated fighter in the second round due to a rear naked choke.
