Volleyball is a sport that requires dedication, teamwork, and hard work. Everything that makes up the team here at Liberty. The Liberty High School Girls Volleyball team has an exciting season ahead with tough games against Gorman and Coronado. They have been putting in work on and off the court to prepare for the season.
Addison Jones, a Junior on Varsity Girls Volleyball states “I look forward to playing Coronado again. They’re our rivals and I really want to beat them, and it’s a fun game every time…” She has been on the team all three years she has been here at Liberty. Not only does she play for the school, but also for the Vegas Aces.

Teamwork and communication are highly important to their team. It is key to having not only successful games but also a good season. “We work better together now, and we are able to communicate.” – Cailyn Ozawa. Confidence also plays a big role in our team’s success.

“We have a better team bond with everybody, and there’s a lot more confidence.” – Addison Jones
These girls go through tough practices throughout the week doing drills, conditioning, and scrimmages. Cailyn Ozawa gave an insight on a drill they do for practice. “2 people on one side, 3 on the other with 2 servers, the side with 2 servers and the other receives.” She also mentioned how she thinks practices are fun.
Coach Nua plays a huge role in this team’s success. He has coached both the Girls and Boys Volleyball teams here for eight years. In 2015, he started as a coach for the Freshman team and in 2017, he then became the head coach. For this season he believes that they have a great shot at making the playoffs this year due to the wonderful group of girls they have.
“Because of our record and title game, a few years ago we made it to the state championship game, and that was a big accomplishment for our program.” – Coach Nua.

Hello, my name is Kavali, and I am a junior here at Liberty. This is my first year in Journalism, and some of my favorite things are video games, watching sports, listening to music, and watching movies and shows. My only dislikes are anything that isn’t peaceful or that is too obnoxious. I have 3 siblings, 2 older brothers, and an older sister. I am the youngest in my family, I live with my Mom, Dad, and 2 older brothers. My passions are Christianity first, then photography, and all of my sports teams. My future plans are to go to college, do photography, maybe around the world, and get closer to God.
