The Clark County District has decided that the 2019-2020 school year is going to be the last year in which students are given the whole Thanksgiving week off.
Beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, students will be required to attend classes during the early part of Thanksgiving week. Meaning that students will continue to come in for Monday and Tuesday, and then they would have Wednesday through Friday off.
This is a hard change to take in for CCSD students considering that the whole week has been taken off for a few years.
This adjustment to the school schedule was made in consideration for state championships, student testing, and the new requirements issued by the state Department of Education.
Along with this new addition, three more emergency days have been added to the school calendar in the case of weather, and other interruptions.
