On August 22 the Liberty high school football season started when our Patriots lost in Utah. Which raises the question: are we really ready for our football season or are we just gonna lose like last year? Even the players are fully sure if they’re ready to face the toughest schools like Farrinington, Foothill, and Desert Oasis. The players are nervous about playing a lot of away games and not having the full support of their fellow patriots and they´re afraid of their patriots not fully having their back after a loss.
Coach Dickson thinks that some of his boys won’t cut it, he stated ¨ The Freshman won’t play better than they did last year; they are not as good as last year¨. The players are also unsure of how they will perform against other teams this year and are a little nervous. Player Trent Sanchez was asked which teams he is looking forward to play and he responded with “probably Bishop Gorman because they are the best in the state and Coronado because they are our rivals.” These specific matchups bring pressure to the players due to the skill and rivalry they have with Liberty High School making people unsure about how things will turn out. A lot of pressure is on them due to them playing really bad last year. Overall Liberty’s team is excited to play but also very nervous on how this season will go for the football team.
