Liberty’s dance teacher and team coach, Ms. Murray strives for one thing here as an educator. To be the best influence she can on students’ lives who want to grow as a dancer and support them through rough times. Often her classes can be heard blasting music throughout the entire gym. Ms. Murray helps give us a more of an understanding on what could possibly be happening in that tiny classroom next to the locker rooms.

Devoting her entire career to the art of dance, Ms. Murray shows how special and important dance is to her, “I’ve been doing dance since I was about three years old, my mom said you’re gonna take this class and I never stopped”. Ms. Murray even explains that the best part about dance is “ anyone can walk in a room and dance together, it doesn’t matter what language you speak or your background, everyone can have a love for it”.

Being the silly and passionate person she is, of course many of her students have a lot of love to share about her. Gabrielle Cook, A varsity dancer and senior here at Liberty shared “ I love my coach, yes she’s funny but she’s also hard on us and serious when she needs to be which I think makes our team stronger”. As a coach we can already infer that Ms. Murray has a lot of responsibilities and methods on preparing her dancers. Aubrey Kasden, a Sophomomore and dancer here at Liberty explains “ We have practice like three times a week and class, she’s constantly pushing us to try our best in practice”. During school hours, students can always look forward to her yearly dance performances and choreography, usually during a pep rally, or the school assemblies. After learning a bit more about Ms. Murray and her role here at Liberty High School we can hope and expect many more good things from her.
