Have you heard of Publications?
Publication is a class where it has to do with the yearbook. Publications 1 is a fantastic elective that you can take to work on our school yearbook. “Publications 1 is an intro into a yearbook, so you learn how the yearbook works, how layouts work, how you should format captions and all sorts of things.” Mrs. Forehand shares who is the publications 1 teacher. She did not teach this class last year, so this is her first time doing it this year. Even though this is new to her and she has never taught this before, she states “I Like that it’s a challenge because its something new.” When talking to some of her students, Justin (Grade 11) and Nevaeh (Grade 10) they shared that they get to work together and the class isn’t too hard. They enjoy that it easy to talk to Mrs. Forehand and she’s always a big help. Nevaeh explained how classes with teachers like Mrs.Forehand, give a big difference in the class itself. Publication’s isn’t always just working on the actual yearbook itself, but working on practicing interviewing, capturing pictures, and actually being creative and getting to open your mind to many different things. You’ll gain valuable skills in photography, writing, and teamwork. This class is a safe way to be themselves and have fun while working on things at the same time. It can also be a good environment for students who might have an interest as book writers or journalism for a future career. Yearbooks play an important role in our school because you get to capture memories of your high school years. Our publication students and teachers help make that happen.
