Flag football is here and in full swing. Tryouts were on November 18th right after school and the teams have been announced. The official season starts December 4th when their first game takes place. The team has high expectations for this season after a rough last season. A player on the team Jaidah Greigo was asked about the current stage of the Liberty Flag program and had this to say “I love the coaches, we did bad last year but we can only get better from that. We fixed those minor mistakes from last season.” With confidence filling the whole team they are ready to make this a season to remember.

While flag football is a growing sport it is still relatively unknown. Landon, a student at Liberty and a player on the tackle team was asked to voice his knowledge of the sport of flag football “ I know it’s kinda similar to the rules of tackles. It’s almost a way for girls to play without all the contact.” While Landon might be knowledgeable on the sport, another student here Andri admitted that he does not know much about the sport and never really paid attention to it. Flag football deserves more attention and this season it will get it.
