The In-Season-Tournament was announced last year and people are wondering if this is truly necessary, or if it’s just the NBA making this just to get more money from its fans . Even some of the NBA’s own players don’t exactly know what or why we have this Tournament. The In-Season-Tournament is where NBA teams fight it out in their own divisions to try and win a trip to Las Vegas and 500,000 for every player on the team. Some people think this is not necessary and some think this is a brilliant idea and that we should love and appreciate it.

The Tournament will be starting again on November 12th with every team in the eastern confidence going against one another. This news has excited both the players and the fans of the sport, but some of them hate this news. Jordan Johnson, a Liberty high school junior, was asked if we really needed this tournament or is it just a cash grab he stated “ This is completely necessary the NBA gave us this tournament so we can have a mini championship in the middle of the season. They knew what they were doing when they made this.”
While these games do not count towards the regular season players still have to play in this tournament even though it doesn’t count towards the actual NBA championship. Blake Jefferson, a Liberty high school freshman, got asked if he understands what effect the tournament has on the rest of the regular season he stated “ This has nothing to do with the regular season. The NBA should make the wins count towards the regular season so teams don’t waste their energy on something that doesn’t matter. “They knew what they were doing when they made this.”- Jordan Johnson
