When you hear that Fall is coming, multiple things come to mind. Whether it’s the environment, seeing leaves turn red and orange, the weather finally cooling down, or the environment of Halloween arriving with decorations.
It’s the difference between pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns. The different aspects of fall are what makes the season, the spooky theme of Halloween that includes the decorations of supernatural creatures and eerie symbolic things. A sophomore at Liberty, Keira Sumida points out, “When I hear fall is coming, the first thing that comes to mind is the spirit of Halloween, the activities to get ready for the holiday is my favorite.” Halloween involves activities like trick or treating, watching horror movies, and costume parties.
The aspect of Halloween is carved into fall for many people and what most prefer the season for. However some other students prefer the season for what the season is. When Brianna Pelayo hears the word fall, “The nature of fall and the nostalgia fall gives is what my favorite part is. To see the leaves changing and the decorations of leaves, pumpkins, and overall the feel of autumn is what makes the season, and it is one of my favorite’s, so I don’t think Halloween makes the season as much as the environment.”
