Recently a new item has been released by an unlikely trio, Logan Paul, Mr Beast, and KSI, called Lunchly. Lunchly is virtually the same thing as a Lunchable. So far they have only released three types of Lunchlys, the Pizza Party Meal Kit, the Fiesta Nachos, and the Turkey Stack Em’s. Each of these meals comes with a Feastables chocolate bar and a bottle of Prime. However, this new product has sparked a debate on whether or not it is a copy of Lunchables
As a lot of you may know, Mrs Beast has been facing severe backlash as of late due to many reasons. The main two reasons are his past friendship with Kris Tyson and the mistreatment of members on his upcoming TV show “Beast Games”. Due to this many individuals believe that this collaboration is oddly timed. Liberty 10th grade, Destiny Shockly explains that she thinks the collab is “really random considering that Mr Beast is currently working on his new show that is currently under fire.” Logan Paul has also faced backlash in the past. The main thing most people seem to remember hearing about is the time he filmed a video in the suicide forest and filmed a shot of a dead body there and posted it. Although, there have been other reasons as well.
The Lunchly itself is facing backlash itself as well. Many online commenters have speculated that Lunchly was a “knockoff” version of the popular brand, Lunchables. People have also been pointing out that the Lunchlys look worse than Lunchables, with an annonomous Liberty High School student, explaining that “they look nasty and slimy”
The way that the three decided to market their brand also sparked controversy. Many people online have been claiming that they were overreacting and being “cringy”
Famous YouTuber DanTDM, replied to one of KSI’s tweets promoting the item, stating
“What happened to YouTubers man.. I can’t not say anything anymore. This is selling stuff for the sake of making money, simple. How does this benefit their fans? This is selling crap to kids who don’t know better but to trust the people selling it to them. Do better.”
Many students here at Liberty found this message to be powerful and a good way to call the trio out. 10th grader Manuel Merancio, explains that he thought Dan’s response was “a really good way to address the situation.” However, YouTuber, Film Cooper, believes that while Dan was right, it also just pointed out something that was quite obvious. He explained that “It’s kind of KSI and Logan Paul’s whole thing too, They are making all of these products just to suck more and more money out of their fans.”
It has also been proven that Lunchly’s are not as healthy as the trio claims. In fact, Lunchlys do not provide the nutrition children need. A YouTuber by the name of Dr Mike explains that children should be getting a specific amount of nutrition during meals and Lunchly does not provide it. Lunchly provides way fewer calories than children need. He also said that children would have to eat around 2-3 of them to reach that daily nutrient count.
All in all the Lunchly collab is a very controversial subject due to the controversy surrounding the creators as well as the supposed copying of Lunchables. What do you think? Will this collab have any success?
