Here at Liberty High school, there is a wide selection of clubs students can be involved and a part of. One for instance, is FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Every Wednesday at both first and second lunch, they come together in room 408, also known as the JROTC room. They offer pizza to eat for lunch while talking about God. Guest speaker Jorge Hernandez, who is a part of FCA outside of Liberty High, comes in each week to communicate with the students and talk about new topics.
This year, both seniors Jaden Riley, and Etheny Lizares are President and Vice President. As for sports, Jaden is a part of our boys Basketball and Track team, while Etheny was a part of the Dance team. Though, Jaden was spoken to separately about FCA and his personal view on it. He says, ¨We talk about how we can grow in our faith with Jesus and just connecting together as students. I also think building a community in a safe place for people to be able to connect to other kids who have the same struggles and come from the same backgrounds is the most important part to me.¨
Gizelle Garcia, Nicolas Coogan, and Amylah, are also a part of the board this year in FCA. As for their sports, Gizelle plays flag football, Nicolas plays Baseball, and Amylah is on Track and Field.
