Nintendo’s new console, the Nintendo Switch Lite, saw its release on September 20th this year. And in the time that we’ve had, it’s been critically acclaimed as one of the best handheld gaming consoles to come out in recent years.
It is praised for its affordable price which starting at $200. Its compact and smart design, improved battery life, good selection of handheld color options, and a system that is compatible with its more complex and pricier predecessor, the Nintendo Switch (2017).
Those still using 3DS or of any Nintendo model of that nature are recommended to make the jump with the Lite considering the recent news that games will no longer be continued for those models. It is a fresh and good opportunity to try out the new generation of handhelds.
However, there are cons to this model. That being the missing TV connection feature of the original switch, no kickstand, and incompatibility with some of the current games out right now. However, these are seemingly minor issues at this price point. And with the holiday sales coming up on the horizon, there is not going to be a better time than now to dive into Nintendo and this particular system.
However, even with all the good press, the number of units being sold don’t reflect this. Falling short of the Japanese unit sell out numbers that was expected by the company.
