Melanie Martinez, born in 1995. first appeared on Voice in 2012 showing off her amazing singing and performance skills. Till this day onward people around the country started to recognize Melanie Martinez for her unique vocal skills and lyrics.

Later on she came out with her iconic first album Crybaby! Crybaby produced by Atlantic Records consisted of many topics including family life (everyone has their problems), love (First love encounter), break up/heart break, no one being there, jealousy, and plastic surgery. Melanie states that “crybaby is a character that is based off of myself” she continues on explaining that not everything that happens to crybaby happened to her.

While this was her first album Crybaby was also her most successful selling over 3,000,000 copies worldwide.

Continuing on with Crybabies journey Melanie came out with her next album K-12 which is supposed to be a reflection of some of the struggles students have during school. This consists of insecurity, bullying, body shaming, love, friends, and unwanted drama.

Along with this album a movie is introduced, which goes further into crybaby’s story.

Between 2015 and 2019 Melanie Martinez worked on the K-12 film trying to fix and perfect the movie as much as she can. She expresses that “reading all the messages from fans i’ve seen so far are so beautiful and my heart is just exploding with love and i’m just beyond grateful”.

Lastly is Melanie Martinez’s latest album which is about the recent issues in her life starting from being born to death. She explained that this “Is really the first album that I didn’t outgrow really quickly. I’m still in it, I still feel really connected to it”. Along with that this is Melanie’s first time working alone in the studio room. Just a book and a pencil… Calling it intimidating.

A Student council member Kristen J stated, “Crybaby is good for a child. It’s more relatable for children that have issues throughout their family”. She continues explaining, “While K-12 and Portals is better for teens since the album consists of topics for an older audience!”

After the Portals Album Melanie Martinez presents her Trilogy tour which reintroduces her older albums, Crybaby and K-12. Kristen states, “Melanie has definitely evolved throughout the years having her topics become more and more complex”.

The Trilogy tour is almost sold out as of now and many people continue to buy resale tickets. With her tour being around the country Las Vegas will be introduced to Melanie Martinez as of May 17th to the 18th at the MGM Grand Casino. Tickets vary from  $89 to over $1000. If you are interested, Ticketmaster sells resale tickets and will continue to do so till sold out completely.

Many stated that perhaps Melanie’s next album is going to introduce a new character with brand new topics to diverge into!
