Isaiah Lauofo is a senior at Liberty High School. He is #3 and the running back on the Varsity Football team. Being on the football team, he was given the nickname “Monstah” because of his speed. He is able to give the team the yards and the plays they need to succeed. He’s been at Liberty since his sophomore year. Isaiah was attending Bartlett High School before coming here. He’s from Anchorage, Alaska and is full Samoan.
Isaiah’s teammates/friends had a lot to say about him as a player and a friend. Tofiga Fiaseu (Jr) #30 on the Varsity Football team states, “As a team player he’s willing to do anything for the team. As a friend, he cares for his friends and can make all of us laugh in a dull moment. He’s very hardworking and always supports his teammates to become the best.”
“He might be the smallest on the field but he’s got heart he’s a dawg and it shows on the field that he don’t care who is in front of him”
Tofiga and Leonard Ramos, a Junior on the Liberty Varsity Football team (#58), both believed the one thing that stood out most about Isaiah was his way of not letting his height define him. As said by Tofiga, “He doesn’t let his height define who he is and doesn’t use it as an excuse. Although he’s small he’s very fast and surprisingly really strong, anyone who tries to tackle him in an open field, good luck.”
Isaiah’s advice to anyone who wants to try out for anything is put your mind to it and just do it and also stay humble. Isaiah is very inspired by his older brother since he pushed him to be the person he is today.
Isaiah is a big influence on the players on the team and his friends. He continues to strive in everything and always gives 110% in everything he does. Isaiah has an uplifting spirit and sees the good in every situation. He manages to keep his grades up attending school everyday and making every football practice. He has a big support system that always shows up and shows out.
“My oldest brother inspires me the most because he made me love football. I always looked up to him growing up and just always wanted to do what he does”
One student attending Liberty High School said, “I first met Isaiah my freshman year, after finding out he was my cousin, Isaiah had no problem talking to me even though it was our first time meeting. He managed to make me laugh on bad days and he let me be myself without judging me. He doesn’t let people talk him down and keeps his head up at all times. He’s a very humbled young man.”
