One of the toughest questions to ask is who exactly is Dillon Pehrson? According to teachers and friends, he is described as, “outgoing, hard working and ambitious”. Dillon is known by many nicknames yet is most commonly referred to as his stage name Astro.

In Astros younger years (around 8) he was introduced to music on a different level. Dillon began to observe his father playing in his own metal band known as, “Morethanmortal”. It was then that Dillon realized he wanted to pursue music stating, “drumming has always been a way to express myself through music. It’s very emotional and hands on”. He is a self made drummer that plays in the theater room before and after school.

Currently, Dillon is involved in a couple of different bands here at Liberty. The names in which are The 5 YT Men and Pourage. According to Mr. Dudder, Dillon is seen as an ambitious student who knows how to take direction. Even his friend Adam Gafford stated that “he practices a lot and is devoted to the drums ‘.

Some interesting facts about this multi-talented senior is that he has been involved in a modeling agency. His modeling is prominent in his Instagram photos an so is his love for photography.

In his spare time, he also enjoys exploring fashion, voicing that, “Going to New York was what made me find my style and I just worked off of that”.

Some advice Dillon would like to give to fellow drummers is “Make sure to take the time to study all kinds of music. If you’re going to learn the drums it’s very important to know many different genres. It’s great to take inspiration from all kinds of music. It just adds so much to your character and gives you the tools to build your own style”.
