American Horror Story is an ongoing horror anthology series that was first premiered on October 5th, 2011, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Currently, nine seasons are released. None of the seasons are a continuation of the previous seasons, you can see the seasons as a miniseries in itself. On September 18th, 2019, season nine was released being named 1984. I can see the influence of the 1980’s slasher films such as Halloween and Friday The 13th.
Though we only get an episode a week, it produces an interesting plot that keeps people wanting more. Within the first few episodes, there is already plot twists, suspense and the building of characters. I’m hooked!
It all starts off with a girl named Brooke. She gets introduced to a group after her workout class. The group she gets introduced too is just an odd bunch of egotistical individuals. The group reveals they are going to volunteer at “Camp RedWood” as counselors. They ask her to tag along but she declines, but later agreeing with it anyways.
A relaxing summer turns into a nightmare with a roaming serial killer. The camp has a backstory that makes the group uneasy. They start encountering terrifying events, and things start to unfold. Jingles was an innocent man that got murder pinned on him. He has gone insane now that he has done the time and now has killed.
I feel American Horror Story season nine is a fast paced story, so though it may be fast you really have to pay attention to really understand. The plots and back stories of the season are really shocking and it makes it easier to stay entertained.
If you enjoy suspenseful, different and exciting shows, you should definitely get to watching American Horror Story.
