Here at Liberty High School we have many sports teams like Football, Basketball, and etc many coaches like one of liberty’s football coach, Coach Dickinson and liberty soccer coach Coach Reich for the 2025-2026 Season.
There are many things that can inspire someone to become a coach whether it is playing sports as a child or just a love for sports. “The events that inspired me to become a coach was when I was a senior I knew I wanted to continue to work in sports” is what Coach Reich said.

When coaching a team there can be many challenges and road blocks when managing a team. There can be social conflicts, issues with players, or just team problems as a whole. Many coaches deal with these problems in a different way. Coach Dickinson says the way he deals with conflicts within his own team is “I address the problem with the whole team”.
There are things that are more rewarding to coaches than winning games or tournaments. What rewards liberty’s girls soccer coach Coach Schmitt the most is “seeing kids grow up and succeed in college and after college they come back to visit me. I’m still a part of their life”.

Amazing coaches in someone’s life can lead to them becoming a coach themselves. Some advice coaches would give aspiring coaches is “be prepared to spend a lot of time and effort into making whatever you are doing great, whether that is spending time building relationship or building stuff for the team” is advice Coach Reich would give aspiring coaches Coach Schmitt advice is “do it because you love it, once its not fun anymore that’s when you should step back from coaching”.

Students leave a lasting impact on Coaches lives as well. Coaching can impact someone’s life in different ways “I have met a lot of great players, students, and athletes watching them grow into young adults, many having their own children now. It’s also been a blessing to coach my own two daughters that play on the Liberty soccer team”. In the end it’s not just students’ lives that are changed but also coaches as well.
