Are you looking to learn more about your culture? Do you want to get to know and engage with more people? If so, join Filipino club in room 903 on Mondays. It’s open to anyone even if you aren’t Filipino and you get to learn all about the Filipino culture and heritage as well as make new friends.

At the club’s meetings they, “teach them about the culture but we also do activities that get the people engaged and just overall get people to know each other more” said senior, Justin Beltran, one of the vice presidents of Filipino club. The club puts a lot of emphasis on getting to know the other members and creating an open and friendly environment. Also at the club’s meetings, members get to learn about different aspects of Filipino culture through the lessons they give.
This year, the Filipino club has many plans for its members. Cj Bito-on, a senior here at Liberty and also the president of the club said, “our plans for this year are,we wanna try to expand the club as big as we possibly can but on top of that we wanna spend more emphasis on having more activities for the members and also have more guest speakers for the club and just make the club a lot bigger than it was previous years.” Cj has high hopes in expanding the club as well as creating more interactive and educational activities for the members for the 2025-2026 school year.
Gio Kadar, a sophomore and treasurer of the Filipino club said, “others should join the club because it’s a great way to learn a new culture especially if you’re Filipino yourself it’s good to get more in depth with your culture and learn where you came from or if you’re just bored and want to learn something new it’s a great club to do that.” Alongside being a great way to learn more about a new culture or your own culture it’s also a great way to make new friends and have fun being involved with the school.
