Hey Patriots! What have you been thinking about Liberty so far this year? The first week we had our welcome back assembly and the following week was full of spirit days! Many students around Liberty were not only involved in the Assembly but other activities so far too. Let’s hear from one of the cheerleaders and get her take on the school year so far.
Junior, Piper Homer, who has been on the Varsity Liberty Cheer team since her Freshman year gives a look at how she’s feeling. She was asked how she felt about the first assembly back and she states ¨I thought it was really, really fun and I thought all the Sports teams did a good job at running out. My favorite part was performing for Cheer.¨ Homer has always helped set up and be involved with the team while creating a fun student life for herself as well. During the assembly, JV performed first but have you ever wondered how they get so prepared to do what they do? Well Homer also shares how they do it! ¨First we moved all of our mats from the cafeteria to the gym and then we put them all out. We then warmed up and sat there for an hour to wait, then performed.¨
Liberty’s Student Council makes all those fun posters you see around the hallway and plans each of our events. One event they recently set up for the first spirit week was BYOC, Bring Your Own Cup! On National Lemonade Day they encouraged people to wear pink or yellow and bring their own cup to get some Lemonade out front in the quad during both lunches. For those who didn’t have a cup, Student Council sold them for a dollar each.

¨Spirit Week, I liked it. It was nice and simple but effective! I especially liked the dress as a teacher day, that was pretty cool.¨ – Dailiohn Patrick
Nullan Woodruff, a Freshman who is a part of Liberty’s Student Council says his favorite part about the welcome back assembly was how he got to help with such a big part of it. ¨We had to make letters for seats and we also made sure all clubs and sports were here. We made the posters for the event and the big banner you see behind us. My specific job was to hold open the doors and pass out little poppers.¨
