What do you want to be in the future was a question the Liberty High School students were asked, as it’s to be thought about. There were a variety of answers on what high school students wanted to be. While some wanted to be teachers, others wanted to be nurses. Reina Bacon, a freshman, wants to be a teacher when she grows up. “I want to become a teacher. I would like to have this career in the future because I think I would be great with the kids and I think teaching fits me.”
On the other hand, Gianna Sales wants to be a physical therapist. “I want to be a physical therapist because I want to help people get back on their feet from injuries or surgeries.”

While some want to be teachers because they are great with kids and love them, others just want to be able to help people and get better. Portlynn, a junior, wants to become a pediatric nurse, which involves a sense of purpose and direction. As in the future, there’s already shortages in certain places like nurses or teachers. People that want to do these jobs in the future will eventually help in the society. Also for these jobs you would need to have good skills whether it’s social skills or more advanced skills.
Gianna Sales stated, “I’m going to need to have good social skills because I would need to get close with my patients to get them to trust me and believe that I can help them with their pain and injuries.” Portlynn explained, “I need to be good with kids and I’m going to need to be able to understand health problems and know what I need to do to help them get better.”
Most careers require an education or some sort of degree. Gianna Sales plans to go to college to get her bachelor’s degree, “I plan to go to college and get my bachelors in biology and finish my education at the doctorate’s physical therapy program and then hopefully get observation hours at a physical therapist office before graduate school.”
