The Department of Government Efficiency is in charge of looking at government programs. With this, they reduce spending in some programs that DOGE doesn’t prioritize. The department is run by experts in finance, policy, and administration all who Elon Musk had appointed.

As of recently, the ethicality of Musks’ task force is being questioned. With 14 states inquiring about a restraining order on DOGE to prevent them from firing federal workers, and accessing federal data.

This may have been denied, but the layoff of over 1,000 national park employees still resonates in the heart of America’s natural beauty.  

Marko Elez, 25, a DOGE employee who served as its treasurer and was previously working for Musk at SpaceX. Recently, resigned his position after a burner Twitter account of his was found, the contents of the account being the main reason for the resignation. Comments such as “Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool,” in July. In September he said “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity.” and “Normalize Indian hate.”

Musk has posted on Twitter that he has plans on rehiring Mr. Elez with comments of consolidation

“To err is human, to forgive divine.”

And “He will be brought back.” Vice President JD Vance also weighing into the situation, saying he believes the employee should be given a second chance. 

Vances’ wife, Usha, is the first, second lady to be of Hindu/Indian American descent. 

She had no comment. 

Musk still has four years to do what he pleases, and it’s hard to tell what the DOGE regime has in store for the future.
