Are you struggling on picking out your winter decorations? There are so many ways to decorate yet people often find themselves struggling to find inspiration.
When asking Catherine Solis, a Sophomore here at Liberty, what her favorite Winter holiday was she replied with Chrisrmas. “Lights outside my house are my favorite decorations.” She believes that through decorating you can show not only christmas spirit but also inspire others around you. For example, decorating the outside of your house with lights, inflatables, and signs shows Christmas spirit. She also stated, “Putting presents underneath the christmas tree also makes everything look out together.” Catherine is very enthusiastic when decorating for Christmas and takes it very seriously. Catherine also shared that she usually gets her Christmas decorations either at Walmart or Sam’s Club as she can get good deals and prices.
Jinda A Xayarath Jr., who preferably goes by JJ, stated that His favorite Winter Holiday is News Year. “I find joy in looking into new beginnings and just having a fresh start.” JJ stated that his family loves decorating with banners, balloons, and lots of sparky objects. JJ also shared that he usually buys his New Years decorations either from Target or Etsy. When asked, do you ever get worried about how much you spend on setting up for new years? He replied, “Money doesn’t matter to me and my family, we are just thankful to be together and be able to experience good times together.” JJ stated that he often finds himself contributing to small businesses as find it to be a better cause and overall has had better experiences.
We also interviewed Rowan Morrow Franco. When asked what his favorite Winter Holiday was, he replied with, “ I like celebrating Hanukkah with my family.” Hanukkah is a celebration of the freedom of Jerusalem. He states that his favorite decoration is the menorah. The menorah is often used as a centerpiece; however, each branch symbolizes human knowledge.
As of lately, people have been really hooked on tik tok. Many people have reported to have gotten ideas for their Decorations from tik tok. As well as Pinterst. Pinterest has a vast majority of inspiration options and is easily accessible.
Lately some of the newest decor trends this winter have been having creative centerpieces, including lots of color; especially white, and using a lot of pine trees and pine cones. Even if you don’t want to spend money you could also try and do some DIYing. So why not share some of your ideas?
