Mrs. Bearden-Spreitzer, most commonly known as Mrs. BS, is a teacher here at Liberty High School. She is fairly versatile on the many subjects she teaches. For instance, Mrs. BS is the Educator for our Journalism program and helps us get our articles out to you. Nevertheless she still perfects her teaching in English and Film 2 classes, although she has only been at Liberty for about four years now. This includes her student teaching. Throughout highschool Mrs. B’S loved literature and making connections within it. This sparked the idea of her becoming a teacher.
After moving from Bonanza High School to Centennial, Mrs. BS had a hard time making new friends and feeling comfortable at her new school. She luckily overcame this by joining her band program and excelling at different instruments (woodwind). A few years passed and Mrs.Bearden-Spreitzer graduated from UNLV with a Secondary Education degree.
She is now recognized as one of the favorites amongst students here at Liberty. A freshman student named Kiki states, “I would say definitely one of the coolest teachers I’ve met.”
How do people describe Mrs. BS?
Kiki (Freshmen), “Fun, I’d definitely say energetic and outgoing.”
Mrs. Ryan & Mrs. Prunty (Teachers), “Vibrant, Vivacious, and very outgoing”
Mrs. Bearden-Spritzer/Herself, “I would say awkward, fun-loving and caring.”
Gabriella Zulueta (Senior), “Ecstatic, Nice, and Unique.”
While she is liked by students even teachers see how much Mrs.BS loves what she does with a passion. Mrs. Prunty & Mrs. Ryan voiced “She is a very understanding person and she tries to have a safe space for everyone. Oh, and she always comes up with fun activities so the students can learn!”
But, what does our favorite writer do in her freetime? Well Mrs. Bearden-Spreitzer states, “My hobbies outside of school include lots of rock concerts. I love heavy metal and I love to read. I also hang out with my wife, family and friends.”
Although she does all these in her freetime she still finds time to keep in touch with her students if help is needed. Some words of wisdom from our teacher, educator, journalist and most importantly our friend is “Never stop trying, always do your best even if you feel your best is not enough. It is enough for somebody. Don’t ever feel alone, someone will always understand you.”
