The Nightmare Before Midterms is a full week of showing off your school and Christmas spirit. The Student Council planned a whole week of fun, activities, and so much more. During all lunches, “snow” was blasted through the air and they even played Christmas music. There was also karaoke at lunch, held in the quad, and anyone could sing or give it a try. The first day, Monday, was Pj day. This included coming to school in your comfy holiday pjs. There were many students wearing Christmas jammies, onesies and shirts. The second day was Sally Day, which meant to come dressed in flannels, fun patterns, and colors. Dozens of students were wearing Christmas themed flannel shirts and shirts that represented the Christmas colors. On Wednesday the theme was Zero Color. This meant White Out! Everyone who wanted to, got to wear all white, even if it was just your shirt or pants. Student council held a lunch activity in the quad called Pin the Nose on Zero. You were blindfolded and of course had to put a bow where his nose should be. After school they held a fun event in the cafeteria where anyone who wanted to come, got to make and paint ornaments, drink hot chocolate, decorate cookies, and watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. Thursday’s theme was Lock, Shock, and Barrel Crew Day. This meant to come matching with your crew, if you chose to. Many students wore matching Christmas pajamas, Christmas shirts with pajama pants, etc.
The last theme of the week For Friday was Halloween Vs. Christmas. You could either pick between wearing Christmas clothes or Halloween. The school also held a Winter Week assembly. They introduced the varsity teams for the winter sports. Games were played, the cheerleaders danced and flipped, activities were played, and the dance team also performed. When Harmany Walker was asked how Winter Week was, she responded, “ It was really cool to see everyone who participated and I had a lot of fun dressing up with my friends.”
